Domestic Health & Wholeness Ministries Health Briefs are a periodic publication that highlights a health topic. They are designed as half-page two-sided documents to make it easy to insert them in Sunday bulletins, but are also sent as emails to our subscribers and are posted on our website. The entire collection of Health Briefs is available on the website under Resources. The annual Health & Spirituality Workshops offer a keynote speaker and skill building sessions for lay and professional ministers, care givers, health professionals, social workers, chaplains, and interested persons. Congregational Health Ministry (CHM) is about utilizing the resources within the congregation and in the community to help meet the physical, mental, and social/emotional needs of those hurting or in crisis. The program also works with the priesthood and leadership within the congregation to ensure spiritual needs are met. CHM also seeks to include all in the fellowship by identifying barriers that exclude persons from the life of the congregation and helping to bridge those gaps. HMA has visual aids available to teach health classes at reunions, retreats, and in congregations. For a list of topics refer to the resources section of the website. Materials and guidance are available for health fairs and other health promotion events. HMA is actively involved on the Health and Wholeness Team created in response to Community of Christ World Church Resolution 1305 to "lift up" health and wholeness. Your support of HMA assists in creating the resources needed for carrying the message of wholeness and promoting health and well-being. |
