After investigating numerous latrines, a composting latrine has been developed allowing compost to be harvested each six months. Several villages are in the process of constructing these.

Pictured here is a newly constructed composting latrine. The new latrines provide much needed hygiene benefits and privacy. The compost provides fertilizer for the gardens, improving the harvest which improves nutrition and health. In some cases it makes the difference between life and death.
